It's Morning in America

Dear Friend,

As we enter one of the most celebratory seasons of the year, I’d like to offer a few words of reflection on last month’s historic election. Many people I know (myself included), were deeply concerned for our country in the days leading up to it. However, on November 5th, the Lord turned the page for America, and a new chapter is now before us.

Amazingly, it was a sweeping win for the conservative platform as the Republicans won the Oval Office and majorities in both the Senate and the House! I believe God answered our prayers and has graciously spared our nation from an onslaught of a radical leftist agenda that would have probably destroyed its remaining moral foundation and the freedoms we hold dear.

Rev. Franklin Graham, a good friend of our ministry, stated it well in congratulating President Donald Trump on his victory. "I thank God that Donald J. Trump won this election! This win is historic in many ways. Millions and millions of people were praying, and I believe God heard their prayers.

It’s a win for the family.

It’s a win for the economy.

It’s a win for millions of unborn children.

It’s a win for freedom of speech.

It’s a win for religious liberty.

It’s a win for law and order.

It’s a win for American manufacturing.

It’s a win for coal miners.

It's a win for farmers.

It’s a win for the oil and gas industry.

It’s a win for national security.

It’s a win against bureaucracy and

government regulators.

It’s a win for Christmas.

It’s a win for freedom-loving people

everywhere, not just here in America,

but around the world." 1

I wholeheartedly agree with Franklin, and I would add with great emphasis that it’s a win for all Christians and our Jewish friends in America and in Israel.

The sun appears to be rising again in America, and I have renewed hope that God is not done with our country. To quote an iconic Ronald Reagan campaign commercial, “It’s morning again in America.” Our prayers were answered; the people of this country voted for good versus evil and, by doing so, breathed new life into our nation.

I pray that this awakening that seems to have occurred for many Americans will result in more than an amazing political comeback by a candidate or a party. I hope this movement toward returning to our country’s golden years will become a spiritual revival that will result in millions of people embracing Jesus as their Lord and Savior—and Christmas is the perfect time to “go tell it on the mountain.”

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone…For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:3,6 ESV)

As Christians, this is the reason for our hope. Regardless of earthly rulers, we serve a risen Savior-King who carries the government and this world on His shoulders. This December and every month that follows, like the shepherds in the fields some 2,000 years ago, may we rejoice and share the glorious Good News with as many people as possible: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, ESV).

At JDFI, our mission is to carry the gospel into homes across the country, uplifting the beauty and purpose of God’s design for the family while defending our faith and freedoms. To fulfill that mission, JDFI has launched several long-term initiatives.

The new JDFI multilingual app offers easy access to Dr. Dobson’s timeless, biblically-based teachings for married couples and parents. The app also features a library with the newly remastered Dr. Dobson Minute, designed for quick session sharing and provided as daily encouragement for you and your loved ones. The JDFI app is currently available on Apple devices in English and Spanish, and three additional languages will be released in 2025 as we seek to reach millions of people for the Lord.

For more than 47 years, Dr. James Dobson has steadfastly advocated for the sanctity of marriage, the vital importance of family, parenting with biblical principles, and the inherent dignity of every human being, including the unborn. Under the leadership of Dr. Owen Strachan, senior director of the Dobson Culture Center, we are honored to boldly carry Dr. Dobson’s legacy into a new era. Since the Culture Center’s online launch in July, over 100,000 people have engaged with its biblically-based resources.

By God’s grace, the Dobson Policy Center’s Countdown to Decision 2024 initiative was a huge success. The effort reached 10 million “non-engaged” Christian voters, including over five million in six swing states. In 2025, the policy center, led by Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy, will continue to encourage and equip Christians to engage in the public square. One of our highest goals is to see the Church step back into a position of influence and leadership regarding the cultural and policy issues of our day.

Lastly, through the blessing of friends, JDFI has a matching grant during December, which will extend until the goal is met. Your gift will be doubled during this month, and I assure you that it will be stewarded wisely. Will you join us in strengthening the institution of the family, engaging the culture, and continuing to be a voice of influence in the public square—all for the glory of God?

Through the Lord’s gracious providence, He has granted America an opportunity to make significant course corrections. There is great work to be done, and I pray you will consider supporting us in our ongoing efforts.
