Edwin and Katherin Reyes have been married since 2012 and have four children. They were high school sweethearts who met each other at church but were not walking with the Lord at the time.
Edwin’s parents divorced when he was young and his mom died from heart disease when he was a teenager. Without any strong authority in his life, Edwin was lost in the world and walking according to the desires of the flesh. He had no parents, and his older brother, who had been taking care of the household through his mother’s sickness and after her death, was not very involved in what his younger brother did with his life.
Katherin was born in El Salvador. When she was just six months old, both of her parents immigrated to the United States and left Katherin and her older sister to be raised by their grandparents. Her parents weren’t able to bring the girls to the U.S. until Katherin was 13 years old. The long separation took a toll on their parent-child relationship, as Katherin was a rebellious teen and wanted to do everything she pleased.
Even though Edwin and Katherin have been through many difficulties and looked away from God during much of their young lives, the Lord had other plans. Both of them came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior around 2013 and have been faithfully serving in their church since then. They now attend and serve in the Spanish ministry of their church, where Edwin often preaches and teaches.

Los padres de Edwin se divorciaron cuando él era joven y su madre murió de una enfermedad cardíaca cuando era adolescente. Sin ninguna autoridad fuerte en su vida, Edwin estaba perdido en el mundo y andaba según los deseos de la carne. No tenía padres, y su hermano mayor, que había estado a cargo del hogar durante la enfermedad de su madre y después de su muerte, no estaba muy involucrado en lo que su hermano menor hacía con su vida.
Katherin nació en El Salvador. Cuando tenía solo seis meses, sus padres emigraron a los Estados Unidos y dejaron a Katherin y a su hermana mayor a cargo de sus abuelos. Sus padres no pudieron traer a las niñas a los EE. UU. hasta que Katherin cumplió 13 años. La larga separación afectó su relación padre-hijo, ya que Katherin era una adolescente rebelde y quería hacer todo lo que le placía.
Aunque Edwin y Katherin han pasado por muchas dificultades y han apartado la mirada de Dios durante gran parte de sus jóvenes vidas, el Señor tenía otros planes. Ambos llegaron a conocer a Jesús como su Señor y Salvador alrededor de 2013 y han estado sirviendo fielmente en su iglesia desde entonces. Ahora asisten y sirven en el ministerio en español de su iglesia, donde Edwin a menudo predica y enseña.
