Dr. Owen Strachan, Senior Director, Dobson Culture Center

Dr. Owen Strachan is the Senior Director of the Dobson Culture Center at JDFI. In public square circles, Strachan has extensive experience. He is a Senior Fellow of the Center for Biblical Worldview of Family Research Council, was the President of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, and served as the Founding Director of the Carl F. H. Henry Institute for Evangelical Engagement at Southern Seminary.

Strachan holds a PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a MDiv from Southern Seminary, and an AB from Bowdoin College. He has taught theology in multiple seminaries for nearly fifteen years, and prior to coming to JDFI was the Provost of a growing institution. He has authored numerous works on culture and doctrine, including the best-selling Christianity and Wokeness, Reenchanting Humanity, The War on Men, and the award-winning The Colson Way.

Strachan often addresses cultural and theological issues on social media and media outlets. He has extensive podcasting experience and is the host of Grace & Truth on the Salem Podcast Network. He has appeared on many programs, including FOX News, OAN, the Megyn Kelly Show, the Andrew Klavan Show, and the Eric Metaxas Show. His videos have been watched by many, including a viral “conversational debate” over homosexuality and a six-part series on wokeness from 2020 that helped identify the rising danger of that ideology.

Most importantly, Strachan is married to Bethany and is the father of three children. With his family, he enjoys hiking, games, and travel to new places. A Churchill aficionado, Strachan cut a rap album in a past life and now enjoys coaching basketball.
