August 06, 2021

Despite an early introduction to Christianity, Tara-Leigh Cobble confesses that she wasted years passing through life on the second-hand information about the Bible she'd gleaned from others. After she was challenged to read through the Bible cover to cover, her life was transformed as she sought God's character on each page. On today's edition of Family Talk, the author of The Bible Recap reveals that daily Bible reading is not some box for a Christian to check. It's our air to breathe and it's our source of joy. Now is the time to end biblical illiteracy in the church.

Tara-Leigh Cobble

As a musician, writer, and speaker, Tara-Leigh Cobble spent more than a decade touring internationally. In 2008, she read through the Bible for the first time, and that changed everything for her. In 2009, her passion for God’s Word prompted her to start D Group (Discipleship Group), in collaboration with a small group of college students. Her spiritual memoirs include Orange Jumpsuit: Letters to the God of Freedom, He's Where the Joy Is, and Here's to Hindsight: Letters to My Former Self. She hosts a daily podcast called The Bible Recap, which encourages people to keep reading the Bible even when they're tempted to quit for lack of understanding. She also produces a daily radio feature called The God Shot. Tara-Leigh is single and lives in Dallas, Texas.
