If you are a woman in your late 30's or early 40's, you may be experiencing a sense of general uneasiness, low self-worth and possibly even a withdrawal from some of the activities you once enjoyed. The late author Jean Lush had a good explanation: you likely could be premenopausal. In addition to any necessary medical treatment, she assures you that God will give you the grace you need to survive this season of change.

The late Jean Lush was an author and certified counselor with CRISTA Ministries in Seattle, Washington. For over 30 years, she offered insight into the dynamics of womanhood via her ministry and published works, and became well known for her radio and television outreach. Lush co-authored many books, including, Mothers and Sons: Raising Boys to be Men, Women and Stress: Practical Ways to Manage Tension, and the best-selling Emotional Phases of a Women's Life. Lush attended The University of Adelaide in South Australia, and was one of the first women certified as a marriage counselor in the state of Washington. Mrs. Lush died of cancer in 1996 at the age of 82. Jean and her husband, Lyall, who preceded her in death in 1991, proudly raised a son, David, and a daughter, Robin.
