The premise of the "Heartbeat Bill" is simple: If a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected against being aborted. Janet Porter's work on behalf of the unborn over the past decade has resulted in 10 states passing Heartbeat Bills into law, and they're gaining in popularity. According to public opinion research from The Barna Group, 7 in 10 Americans now support these bills, including 86% of Republicans and 55% of Democrats. In Janet's latest book, A Heartbeat Away, she predicts that the Heartbeat Bill will eventually pierce the heart of Roe v. Wade.

Janet Porter

Janet Porter served as legislative director of Ohio Right to Life, where she successfully lobbied for the passage of the nation's first partial-birth abortion ban. She also worked as national director of the Center for Reclaiming America, founded by Dr. D. James Kennedy, where she initiated the "Truth in Love Campaign," featuring ex-homosexuals in newspaper and television ads. Janet is the founder of Faith2Action and architect of the pro-life Heartbeat Bill, which ensures that "if a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected." Heartbeat Bills have been introduced in 29 states and were passed by 11 of them. She chronicled her decade-long battle to save babies in her latest book, A Heartbeat Away.
