Cancer is a horrific disease that destroys lives. And many families are not prepared when their children are diagnosed with this illness at a young age. On this broadcast of Family Talk, Dr. Dobson will talk with multiple parents who have experienced childhood cancer, and, in some cases, lost their child. They will share their heartfelt stories and why they felt alone at times, on this edition of Dr. James Dobsons Family Talk.

Nicky Hampton, Toni Rockwell, Melinda Mayton-Corey & Kelly Hobbs

Nikki Hampton and her husband Terry have 3 children, including Colter, who contracted leukemia at 18 months of age, but went home to be with the Lord March 2005 at the age 8 from complications after a bone marrow transplant. Toni Rockhill and her husband Vick have 6 children. In 2001 her daughter Christian was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia at age 13. She went into complete remission 2004 but relapsed in November2005. Cory Hobbs and his wife, Kelly have 3 children. Their daughter, Natalie, at age 5 was diagnosed with leukemia in 2001. She was declared cancer free in November 2003. Melinda Maytongrew up in loving family that annually met at the beach for get-togethers. Through her younger sister with medical problems,Melinda was inspired to start a ministry to help children with cancer and their families. In 1999, she founded Lighthouse Family Retreat, a Georgia based ministry.
