With a disregard for absolute truth in today's culture, it has become essential that Christian families spend consistent time immersed in God's Word. Pastor Michael Youssef, author of Hope for This Present Crisis, grew up under a socialist dictatorship and yearned to one day breathe America's "air of freedom" inspired by its Christian heritage. Now a U.S. citizen, he's become increasingly alarmed by the radical socialist agenda being taught in classrooms, and Christians being denied free speech.

Dr. Michael Youssef

Michael Youssef was born in Egypt and lived in Lebanon and Australia before coming to the United States. He fulfilled a childhood dream by becoming an American citizen. Dr. Youssef earned degrees from Moore College in Sydney, Australia, and Fuller Theological Seminary in California, along with a Ph.D. in social anthropology from Emory University. He founded The Church of The Apostles in 1987 with fewer than 40 members, which has since grown to a congregation of 3,000. Their church launched “Leading the Way,” an international tele-evangelistic ministry, which is now broadcast over 13,000 times per week on 6 continents and in 25 languages. Dr. Youssef has authored 40 books, including Saving Christianity?: The Danger in Undermining Our Faith—And What You Can Do about It, Life-Changing Prayers, and The Third Jihad: Overcoming Radical Islam’s Plan for the West. His most current title is Hope for This Present Crisis: The Seven-Step Path to Restoring a World Gone Mad. Michael and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Atlanta, Georgia, and they have four grown children and 10 grandchildren.
