Bob Vernon is the former Assistant Chief of Police for the Los Angeles Police Department, and founder of Pointman Leadership Institute (PLI). He served the LAPD for 38 years in various roles including higher management, where he oversaw more than 10,000 employees. Bob started PLI in 1995, with a focus on empowering leaders to have ethical character, both personally and professionally. Pointman seminars have been attended by government officials, military leaders and business professionals all over the world. Bob completed his undergraduate work at Biola University and California State College, and received his MBA from Pepperdine University. He also graduated from USCs Managerial Policy Institute, and the FBIs National Executive Institute. Bob is a respected teacher, and international conference speaker. He authored several books including L.A. Justice: Lessons from the Firestorm and Character: The Foundation Of Leadership. He and his wife Ester live in Pasadena, California, and have 2 children and numerous grandchildren.
