      Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, helped redefine the purpose of government and pressured the Soviet Union to end the Cold War. Ronald Reagan began with a career in entertainment, appearing in more than 50 films.He later served two terms as governor of California. Reagan ran for the U.S. presidency and won two terms, beginning in 1980. Having suffered from Alzheimer's disease in his later years, Reagan died on June 5, 2004.
