Dr. Tim Clinton continues his conversation about domestic violence with licensed psychotherapist, Dr. Barry Lord. He describes an abused womans feelings of imprisonment, and why she keeps this abuse secret from everyone. Hear what the church can do to help those in violent situations at home.

Dr. Barry Lord

Dr. Barry Lord is a licensed psychotherapist with over 30 years of counseling experience in the state of California. He no longer works in private practice, but continues to speak and lecture around the world. Dr. Lord is an authority on the impact of domestic violence, and helped develop an educational program for clinicians called DV Counselor Training. He and his staff worked on over 140 domestic violence cases every year, and helped implement court ordered domestic violence recovery programs. Dr. Lord is the retired Dean of the Behavioral Sciences Department at Southern California Seminary. He continues to serve on the Seminarys Board of Directors, and was recently honored at SCS with Professor Emeritus status. Dr. Lord currently works with the Lexington Fatherhood Initiative, which encourages men in jail or on probation to be better husbands and fathers to their families.
