Dr. Michael Farris

Dr. Michael Farris is president, CEO, and general counsel of Alliance Defending Freedom.Farris graduated from Western Washington State College, magna cum laude, with a bachelors degree in Political Science, followed by a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University. He is the founding president of both the Home School Legal Defense Association in 1983 and Patrick Henry College in 2000.Farris has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and is the author of over 15 books, as well as law reviews and other scholarly articles. He and his wife, Vickie, have 10 children and 21 grandchildren. Jenna Ellis is a practicing attorney in criminal law and specializing in American constitutional law, has extensive experience in litigation in both trial and appellate levels. She received her B.A. from Colorado State University and her J.D. from University of Richmond School of Law. She has served as a deputy district attorney, private counsel, and counsel for the U.S. Department of State and Department of the Navy. In December 2015, she published her first bookThe Legal Basis for a Moral Constitution.
