Understanding Our Biblical Roots

Understanding Our Biblical Roots
2:24

JDFI supports Israel and strongly opposes antisemitism of every kind. Unlike much of Europe, a majority of adult Americans are still pro-Israel. But among younger Americans, including Christians, the support is waning.

One major reason for the opinion shift is the incessant propaganda by the left, academia, and media who despise Judeo-Christian civilization. Leftist literature paints Jews as “colonists” who have “occupied Palestinian land.” That is false. We know that God gave the land of Israel to the Jews. Critical to reestablishing that truth is Christian families, churches, and educational institutions providing young Christians with the historical and philosophical background of the Israeli nation and how the Bible applies to Western civilization.

In the aftermath of the October 7 massacre in Israel and the pro-Hamas demonstrations that erupted here in America, Colorado Christian University (CCU), located in JDFI’s “backyard,” has taken steps to address the problem directly. Working with the Herzl Institute in Jerusalem, CCU offers an exciting new course designed to teach students about the historical importance of “the political philosophy of the Hebrew Bible.”

In an interview with The Christian Post, CCU Chancellor Donald Sweeting explained that much of academia is hostile to the Bible and Israel. Thus, they ignore those contributions to Western civilization.

“What usually happens when we teach politics is that you begin with the Greeks — Plato and Aristotle. We operate as if political thought was born in Athens. But before the Greeks, the Hebrews were thinking deeply about politics and making extraordinary contributions to our world,” he said.

“Yet the omission of a biblical perspective is often due to an Enlightenment rationalist hostility to the Bible. Furthermore, the omission of teaching about the place of the Jews and Judaism in civilization is often driven by a hidden antisemitism,” Sweeting added.

JDFI applauds the development of the course and encourages other Christian colleges and universities to follow CCU’s example. We also urge Christ-centered families to teach their children to reject antisemitism by teaching them how the Old Testament is central to America’s founding and formation, setting our nation apart as the world’s most free and successful civilization.

Musk War on Corruption

Donald Trump’s boldness in his second term continues to astonish the country. We are particularly gratified that he is rolling back transgender ideology and has promoted multiple pro-life initiatives. Both are JDFI priorities. The most comprehensive challenge he has confronted is the massive corruption in the federal government, where millions of employees spend trillions of our tax dollars every year.

There's Hope in This New Battle

Trump’s strong message was broadcast by video. He began by saying, “Each year, Americans of every age, color, and background travel to our nation’s capital by the tens of thousands to stand up for precious little babies who cannot stand up for themselves.” He then made this clear promise: “In my second term, we will again stand proudly for families and for life.”
