We are dismayed and disappointed that Tucker Carlson will no longer host Fox News' most successful prime time show. The word "on the street" is that he was forced out by Rupert Murdoch, the owner of the network. Others say he and Fox simply agreed that it was time to move on. In either case, his departure is a great loss for those devoted to faith, family, and freedom.
Carlson dealt with many issues on his program that are not among JDFI's priorities. But, on our top priorities—including the sanctity of life, strong families, religious liberty, transgender extremism, and respecting our Constitution—Carlson was a strong and consistent advocate. You could tell he was effective by the hatred and vitriol aimed at him by the radical, secular left.
A few days ago, The Heritage Foundation sponsored a conference in which Carlson delivered the keynote. His remarks turned somber when he described the current moment in America, as powerful forces are attempting to transform our country and rip it out of the rich soil of Judeo-Christian civilization. Carlson asked the audience to find time each day to pray for America's survival, and he promised he would do so, too.
Carlson also emphasized the absolute need to speak truth in a day where lies are gaining traction across all sectors of life. Equally as impressive, he called both abortion on demand and the ideology of transgenderism the evils that they truly are. We could not agree more, and we desperately need more voices speaking the power of truth into our culture.
We will also pray that Carlson gets a new platform soon to bring his commonsense faith-based conservatism to the American people.
