Trump Outlines Agenda at Christian Conference

Former President Trump spoke at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference recently. He urged the audience of Christian conservative activists to do everything possible to encourage Christians to vote this November. He said, "The radical left is trying to shame Christians, silence you, demoralize you, and they want to keep you out of politics. They don't want you to vote. That's why you have to vote . . . If you vote, we cannot lose. They don't want you to vote. But Christians cannot afford to sit on the sidelines."1

JDFI has regularly expressed our frustration that many Christians are not voting and, in many cases, are not even registered to vote at a time when faith, family, and freedom are under attack in the "popular" culture and the halls of government. If we do not participate in using our God-given rights, we risk losing our liberty.

The former president also addressed the Justice Department's persecution of pro-life activists. For example, he brought up pro-lifers who have been prosecuted under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and sentenced to long prison terms for non-violent protests. In some cases, protestors simply sang hymns and prayed outside of clinics.

Trump repeated his previous pledge to "create a new federal task force on fighting anti-Christian bias" that would "investigate all forms of illegal discrimination, harassment, and persecution against Christians in America."2

He told the cheering audience he would aggressively "protect Christians in our schools, in our military, in our government, in our workplaces, in our hospitals, and in our public square."3

Addressing an LGBTQ+ agenda," Trump asked, "Who would think that men playing in women's sports is okay?... God created two genders, male and female." He then pledged to "sign an executive order to keep men out of women's sports."4

We applaud that commitment. Women and girls in America are losing "safe places" to radical trans ideology. This must stop.

We urge all Christians to register to vote, study the issues facing our country, pray for wisdom, and support candidates at all levels of government whose policies are consistent with biblical values. Together, we can make a difference!

Happy Christmas!

A significant exchange of words occurred a few days ago between First Lady Jill Biden and a young American child. Children were at the White House on the occasion of the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots campaign. Mrs. Biden greeted the children with a shout of “Happy Holidays!” One courageous child loudly responded, “Happy Christmas!”

Seven Critical Issues

JDFI made a substantial commitment this year to help ensure Christians had the information they needed on each of these issues so they could be discerning, educated voters. We also wanted to increase the number of Christ-followers who voted. We have been deeply troubled that Christian involvement in elections has lagged behind the participation rates of other demographic groups.

Checking In on the Presidential Transition

We are about halfway through the transition period between the outgoing Biden-Harris administration and the incoming Trump-Vance team. Every day, President-elect Trump has been announcing appointments to key positions in his second administration. Those “personnel” will often determine policy.
