This week began with former President Trump joining military families at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the sacrifice of 13 American heroes who were murdered by Islamic terrorists during the withdrawal from Afghanistan that the Biden/Harris administration had poorly planned. Trump laid wreaths at Arlington as the mournful notes of Taps and the weeping of loved ones filled the air.
Trump’s honoring of these brave military men and women stood in stark contrast to President Biden’s absence as he vacationed once again at his Delaware beach house. Biden and Harris have intentionally tried to move beyond the Afghanistan tragedy. Their desire is understandable. Approval of the Biden/Harris administration dropped significantly after the failed withdrawal and has never recovered.
More importantly, America’s credibility around the world precipitously declined. Our enemies were emboldened. Putin invaded Ukraine shortly afterward. Iran stepped up its threats against us and Israel. The possibility of a world war looms large.
Of the many issues that will be decided by this election, none are more important than our national security. The choice we face is between Trump/Vance peace through strength and a continuation of Harris/Walz appeasement and weakness.
