Dear Friend:
It has come to our attention that unscrupulous organizations have been using Dr. James Dobson's name and likeness in deceptive endorsements to entice unsuspecting people to buy online products called CBD.
We'd like to take this opportunity to address a few of the most egregious untruths being portrayed in these ads:
1. Dr. James Dobson has left the ministry.
FALSE. He is the founder and chairman of the JDFI board and is actively involved in the ministry. He has written more than 50 books for families and is deeply loved by his followers.
2. Dr. Dobson takes CBD products (a form of marijuana) and they have improved his health.
FALSE. Dr. Dobson has never, nor would he ever, take CBD products.
3. Dr. Dobson has left the church.
FALSE. He loves the church and believes regular attendance (for those who are physically able) is essential to a healthy Christian life. He is deeply committed to Jesus Christ and has been since he was four years of age.
4. Dr. Dobson has passed away.
FALSE. His health remains stable and he and his wife, Shirley, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in August. They are still going strong.
We want to make it very clear that Dr. Dobson and the organizations he leads have nothing to do with these scams. We do not endorse any products or services that are not in line with the biblical principles and values that guide us.
From the very beginning, Dr. James Dobson's ministry has been guided by Proverbs 22:1: "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold." We cherish the trust and confidence you have given us through the years, and we will always seek to uphold it.
Please pass this along to your family members and friends. May God bless you in the days ahead!
