The SPLC even gives "helpful" guidance on how to identify the "extremist" parents. The SPLC report warns that they often wear shirts with this phrase, "We do not co-parent with the government."
If the SPLC finds that idea "extreme," it tells you more about them than it does about the parents. The SPLC is on the side of those who want the government and the teachers' unions to decide what your children are taught about our most fundamental values.
This attack is outrageous, but, sadly, it isn't surprising. The SPLC has a long history of smearing conservative and Christian groups. They have attacked our friends at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), who do outstanding work defending religious liberty. The SPLC has also smeared the Family Research Council, a group first conceived by Dr. James Dobson that I had the pleasure to lead for over a decade.
Unfortunately, the SPLC's smears have reaped a big payoff. Their public tax records show they have amassed assets of $703 million. In recent years, the SPLC's irresponsible reports have been used by the Justice Department, the FBI and the Defense Department to identify so-called "hate groups."
I think the attack on Moms for Liberty and other parental rights groups is evidence that we are winning! In school districts all over America, parents are rescuing their children from left-wing education officials and the powerful teachers' unions.
The left-wing indoctrination is being exposed! Now the Left is trying to use fear to shut parents up. Don't succumb to it!
We hope the parental rights groups will consider taking legal action against the SPLC. In addition, conservatives in Congress should conduct hearings to expose the SPLC's real agenda. JDFI will continue to rally parents to defend their children from malevolent ideologies in our schools.
