Stacey Abrams is a rising star in the Democrat Party. She's running for governor of Georgia again. She claimed recently that a baby doesn't have a heartbeat at six or eight weeks. She's wrong. The science is clear about that.
But here's a more important question: Do pro-abortion leaders have a heart at all?
Abrams suggested last week that aborting your baby was a way to fight inflation. What?!
Sadly, she's not an oddity. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, one of the most powerful women in Washington, said the economy will suffer without abortion. Why? Because mothers may want to stay home with their babies and won't be in the workforce. Well, guess what Secretary Yellen? Women staying home to raise their children are doing the most important work in the country. If you don't know that, we really are in trouble.
These shocking statements are bad enough. But powerful so-called "progressives," who are trying to stop Christians from following our faith in the public square, have suddenly started quoting the Bible to justify their demands to kill more babies.
California Governor Gavin Newsom twisted the words of Jesus to promote abortion on demand. I'd be careful, Governor.
Georgia Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock suggested that God is pro-choice. Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman said abortion is "sacred."
Here at the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, we believe that all of our children should be welcomed in the world and protected by the promises of the American Constitution. Other Americans are conflicted about this issue. But many of the most powerful people in the country sound like they don't even understand why there is a debate.
They love abortion. They promote it. They want you to subsidize it with your taxes so there are even more abortions. And they're outraged that the issue has been sent back to the states for the people to decide.
