Pro-Life Youth Not Voting?

The Kennedy School Institute of Politics at Harvard University has released the results of its Fall 2023 Youth Poll. The Institute sampled 2,098 young Americans between the ages of 18 and 29. The survey results on the question of abortion and voting were alarming.

Fifty-three percent (53%) of the youth interviewed described themselves as "pro-choice," 26% said they are "pro-life," 10% said "neither," and 11% said they "didn't know." Clearly, the pro-life movement has more work to do.

Even more disturbing were the survey's results on voting. Forty-five percent (45%) of young people said they would definitely vote if an initiative was on the ballot that impacted the legality of abortion in their state. There have been a series of such ballot initiatives that those of us who are pro-life have lost.

The results of the next question may explain why. Sixty-four (64%) of those who are "pro-abortion" said they would definitely vote. But only 34% of those who are "pro-life" said they would definitely vote. Obviously, we have more work to do on the importance of voting as well.
