Pro-Abortion America?

Do the American people prefer abortion on demand or "a woman's right to choose," as the abortion industry and their political allies describe it? Over the last year, since Roe v. Wade was thankfully overturned, a narrative has taken root that it is a political liability to be pro-life and in favor of legal restrictions on abortion. That simply isn't true. But if elected officials and candidates are afraid to make the pro-life case, we guarantee they will lose every time. Being pro-life is not something to be ashamed about.

At JDFI we are 100% pro-life. We want all the children to be welcomed into the world, protected by the law and to be part of the American family. Many Americans have a more complicated view on abortion, which is why pro-life lawmakers must be willing and able to debate the issue.

Our friends at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, the nation's leading pro-life organization, just completed a nationwide poll. The results are encouraging, but they also show more work needs to be done to win hearts and minds. Only 26 % of the country favors a total ban on all abortions with the three exceptions of rape, incest, or life of the mother. But a solid majority of 59% would support a ban after 15 weeks with the three exceptions. Surprisingly, even 53% of voters who describe themselves as "pro-choice" would favor a ban after 15 weeks.

The Biden administration and their allies in Congress are supporting legislation that by any yardstick is radical and unpopular with most voters. The goal is to strike down pro-life laws in every state and replace them with a statutory right to abort at any time and for any reason during all nine months of pregnancy. An overwhelming majority of the American people - 64% - oppose this radical proposal that would significantly increase the number of abortions each year. Are the estimated 60 million abortions that have been performed in America since 1973 not enough for the White House?

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America, said this about the state of abortion politics in America, "When it comes to protecting life and supporting women, Americans agree far more than the media will report. . . [Americans] reject the Democrats' radical agenda of tax-funded abortion on demand until birth. Life is winning across America and that's worth celebrating."

Inspiration That Could Save America

There is always an October surprise in every election, and we may have just experienced it. More on that later. The presidential campaigns are deploying resources and crafting messages to clarify the choice before us. Former President Donald Trump spent half an hour as a McDonald’s employee, effectively turning it into “Donald’s” as he served Pennsylvania families burgers and fries. At a rally in the same state, steel workers gathered around him and gave him a hard hat, insisting that Trump saved the steel industry. Then Trump showed his support of the American people by attending an NFL game. The stadium erupted in chants of “USA! USA!”
