President Biden offers lies, threats, and disunity in first press conference

March 26, 2021 — President Joe Biden gave his first press conference yesterday. “Press conference” is an inadequate description of what took place, which was nearly an hour of misrepresentations and outright lies, as he claimed responsibility for the continued success of President Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed,” blamed the Trump administration for problems that he, himself, created at the border, and totally distorted the truth about legislation the Democrat party is seeking to ram through Congress. All of this was communicated under the guise of uniting the people of our country.

The press may have been satisfied with it… but freedom-loving Americans and people who hold true to our Judeo-Christian values should rightfully be outraged.

First, on the subject of COVID-19 vaccines, President Biden proclaimed triumphantly that America had accomplished his “hope” to administer 100 million vaccine doses in the first 100 days of his administration. Astute observers noted that the only way President Biden could have failed to deliver was if he completely bungled the process begun by the Trump administration; to be specific, on the day Joe Biden was inaugurated, the U.S. administered almost 1.5 million vaccine shots!

The co-opting of President Trump’s accomplishments continued, as President Biden predicted economic growth reaching 6 percent. Given the roaring economy President Trump created – which only a worldwide pandemic could decrease – it’s not surprising we will see a spike in growth as the virus begins to recede. Worth celebrating? Absolutely! But the credit shouldn’t go to the Biden administration. Where is this man’s sense of decency?

One area where President Biden should claim credit is the border, where people are arriving in droves. By removing the previous administration’s immigration policies, President Biden has literally created a humanitarian and a national security crisis all within his first two months in office. He said, “I like to think it’s because I’m a nice guy, but it’s not.” Instead, Biden incredibly claimed the problems at the border were created by the Trump administration. Make no mistake, the thousands of migrants seeking to enter this country – while wearing Biden t-shirts – think Joe is a nice guy. But this “nice guy” so happens to be our President who is charged to uphold the sovereignty and security of our nation. Yet, he has no regrets for his actions–throwing open the border and putting his nation’s security at risk, and spending $86 million on hotel rooms for individuals illegally crossing our borders, when national guard troops were forced to sleep in a parking garage in the dead of winter while protecting our Capitol. Yes, we must seek to help people outside our country with great compassion. However, we cannot usher in chaos, compromise national security, and embrace lawlessness in the process. President Biden’s policies (or lack of policies) do not constitute a nice guy status, and he is not acting in the best interest of America.

Most egregious, consider what the President is seeking to accomplish when it comes to “voting rights.” As I wrote recently, HR1 (and its companion bill in the Senate, S1) is an “outrageous bill [that] seeks to dismantle our constitutional republic… by changing election laws to tilt the balance of power irrevocably to the far Left.” Among other things, HR1 would ban commonsense measures like voter ID laws, mandate procedures that cause illegal aliens to be registered to vote, and force taxpayers like you and me to fund the political campaigns of candidates we do not support. Does this sound like the support of democracy?! Yet President Biden talks about such efforts as “elemental to…democracy,” and “the basic right to vote.” He is either lying to us, or he is incredibly confused about what his own party is up to. I’m not satisfied with either possibility…are you?

Of course, the last impediment to the full implementation of the Democrat’s agenda is the filibuster. Accordingly, it should come as no surprise that President Biden has now signaled his support for getting rid of the filibuster. I can only pray that Democrat Senators Joe Machin and Krysten Sinema stand firm in their opposition to ending this vital parliamentary procedure, which is the only thing standing between Joe Biden and the full adoption of his radical re-making of America.

There is so much more I could address, but understand this: Throughout the press conference, and so far in his tenure as President, Joe Biden has acted as a divider, rather than fulfill his promise to unite the country. He has advanced far-left policies –most often by executive order – and continues to blame President Trump for problems that he is creating, even as he takes credit for successes he inherited. Through it all President Biden nevertheless accuses Republicans of “continu[ing] the politics of division.” (He even questioned whether the Republican party would still be here in 2024?!) How this man could say such things with a straight face is beyond me. Yet, it seems that he is willing to say anything to cram his radically-left agenda down the throats of all Americans.

It’s more clear than ever that our nation is teetering on the edge. Are Christians, at long last, aware of this horrible reality? And are we finally ready to stand up and let our voices be heard, before it is forever too late?

Inspiration That Could Save America

There is always an October surprise in every election, and we may have just experienced it. More on that later. The presidential campaigns are deploying resources and crafting messages to clarify the choice before us. Former President Donald Trump spent half an hour as a McDonald’s employee, effectively turning it into “Donald’s” as he served Pennsylvania families burgers and fries. At a rally in the same state, steel workers gathered around him and gave him a hard hat, insisting that Trump saved the steel industry. Then Trump showed his support of the American people by attending an NFL game. The stadium erupted in chants of “USA! USA!”
