A disturbing new study just released by the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) found that 61% of women who undergo abortions do so because of pressure from "male partners, family members, other persons, financial concerns and other circumstances."
CLI is the research and education branch of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. The study was based on interviews with 1,000 women in the United States and was peer-reviewed for accuracy.
The research showed that if a woman aborted because of pressure to do so she was much more likely to suffer feelings of loss, grief, or sadness about the abortion, as well as an overall decline in her mental health.
The study points to a shocking reality — that more women are suffering from unwanted abortions than they are from unwanted pregnancies. Abortion centers should be required to do more screening and counseling to ensure that women are not being coerced or threatened to abort their pre-born children.
