We are now in the closing argument phase of the presidential campaign. Candidates are presenting their most compelling cases for why still undecided voters should choose them.
Donald Trump is outlining what his second term would look like. He is pushing
- - tax cuts for working and middle-class Americans,
- - a secure border,
- - ending inflation,
- - energy independence, and
- - protecting religious liberty and free speech.
In foreign policy, he intends to
- - reestablish peace through strength,
- - negotiate an end to the Russia/Ukraine war, and
- - stand with Israel against Iran and its terrorist allies.
In contrast, Kamala Harris’s closing argument consists of only two disturbing reasons she wants our votes. First, she claims President Trump is a Hitler “wannabe” who threatens our liberty. Her “Trump is Hitler” theme is dangerous, further dividing America.
The motif could very well inspire another assassination attempt. Even the liberal Democrat mayor of New York City has urged her to stop the baseless smear.
The second issue borders on an obsession. Harris insists on abortion on demand for all nine months of pregnancy, paid for by taxpayers. We already have had over one million abortions of innocent preborn children during the Biden-Harris administration (in 2023).
Harris insists that killing a preborn baby is “women’s health care.” How can a procedure that always takes an innocent life be “health care”?
Her embrace of abortion and wild smear of Trump seem like expressions of desperation. National polls show Trump with a three-point lead. He is also leading in the key swing states.
