Gender Identity: Schools' Big Secret

If your child is struggling academically in school, chances are you'll be notified.

But if your child is struggling with his or her God-given gender? Don't count on it.

The latest school district to embrace the radical "orthodoxy" of "gender identity" is found in rural Wisconsin. In late October, the Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) sent a letter to its staff drawing attention to a change to its "Nondiscrimination Guidelines Related to Students Who Are Transgender and Students Who Are Nonconforming to Gender Role Stereotypes."

What's the change? LifeSiteNews reports:

Prior to the notice, employees were bound by an administrative guideline to seek parental consent "to use a student's preferred name or gender pronouns if they differed from the student's biological sex assigned at birth," meaning teachers were obliged to make parents aware of any significant change in how their child perceives their nature.

Now, however, "[d]istrict staff members are no longer required to seek parental consent prior to honoring student requests to be called by their preferred name and/or pronouns," OASD Director of Student Services Matthew Kaemmerer wrote. The letter was co-headed by OASD Superintendent Dr. Bryan Davis.

This is equal parts shocking and outrageous. In 1923, the U.S. Supreme Court held that "it is the natural duty of the parent to give his children education suitable to their station in life." The high court has also acknowledged that a child is "not the mere creature of the state" (1925), that parents have a fundamental right over "the companionship, care, custody, and management" of their children (1972), and that the "primary role of parents in the upbringing of their children" is "beyond debate." (1972).

But according to an increasing number of school districts, this "primary role of parents" doesn't extend to something as basic as human sexuality. Are your children in public schools? It may be time to consider your options. At the very least, realize that the public school system can no longer be viewed as an ally in your child's education. Instead, you need to consider public school officials as a potential and powerful source of indoctrination. Your sacred charge is to protect and train your children—make sure you are up to the task!

Harris vs. Trump: What Each Candidate Wants Most for America

We are now in the closing argument phase of the presidential campaign. Candidates are presenting their most compelling cases for why still undecided voters should choose them. Donald Trump is outlining what his second term would look like. He is pushing • tax cuts for working and middle-class Americans, • a secure border, • ending inflation, • energy independence, and • protecting religious liberty and free speech.

Inspiration That Could Save America

There is always an October surprise in every election, and we may have just experienced it. More on that later. The presidential campaigns are deploying resources and crafting messages to clarify the choice before us. Former President Donald Trump spent half an hour as a McDonald’s employee, effectively turning it into “Donald’s” as he served Pennsylvania families burgers and fries. At a rally in the same state, steel workers gathered around him and gave him a hard hat, insisting that Trump saved the steel industry. Then Trump showed his support of the American people by attending an NFL game. The stadium erupted in chants of “USA! USA!”

To Be Salt and Light, We Must Be Involved in America's Elections

The polls are shifting again. The race is still a toss-up, but virtually every poll shows former President Donald Trump with the momentum. Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has adopted a new tone. It started with a joy, joy, joy vibe. Now, the emphasis is fear, fear, fear. Harris labels Trump “dangerous.” Her surrogates compare him to Hitler. After two serious assassination attempts on Trump, this rhetoric could inspire more violence. Please pray for the safety of Trump and Harris.
