Florida Law Protecting Kids

In 2022, the Florida legislature, at the urging of Governor Ron DeSantis, passed a law requiring public schools to remove material, including books, that are pornographic, violent, or not age-appropriate.

It also requires school personnel who have a role in selecting books for school libraries to undergo training by the Florida Department of Education.

The Daily Caller New Foundation is reporting that the law is showing results, with hundreds of books being removed from classrooms and school libraries. Media coverage has claimed that great works of literature are being banned in Florida. In fact, the removed material is deeply offensive and, in many cases, promotes LGBTQ+ themes.

The books in Florida have also been found in many other school libraries and classrooms across the country. They include, "This Book Is Gay," "Gender Queer," "Let's Talk About It" and "It's Perfectly Normal."

Taryn Fenske, who is the communications director for Governor DeSantis, provided excerpts from several of the books that children had previously been exposed to. They are deeply disturbing. "This Book Is Gay" includes a glossary of words describing various sexual practices that are perverse and dangerous.

The book, "Let's Talk About It," promotes promiscuity and "recreational" sex. The book claims it is suitable for children ages 10 and up.

While the Florida legislation is working, the battle over age-appropriate material in the classroom rages on. Some school districts run by school boards with far-left majorities continue to resist the law. Nonetheless, Florida is the first large, multi-cultural state to confront this issue. JDFI commends Governor DeSantis and the state legislature.

What about your child's or grandchild's school? It is imperative that you take the initiative to determine if this type of material is poisoning the minds of those you love in your public schools. Please take action today. Report to us on what you find in your research. Save the children!

Inspiration That Could Save America

There is always an October surprise in every election, and we may have just experienced it. More on that later. The presidential campaigns are deploying resources and crafting messages to clarify the choice before us. Former President Donald Trump spent half an hour as a McDonald’s employee, effectively turning it into “Donald’s” as he served Pennsylvania families burgers and fries. At a rally in the same state, steel workers gathered around him and gave him a hard hat, insisting that Trump saved the steel industry. Then Trump showed his support of the American people by attending an NFL game. The stadium erupted in chants of “USA! USA!”
