The Biden administration continues its move forward with their plan to severely undermine a key federal law that prevents sexual discrimination. The law, referred to as Title IX, was passed in 1972 to protect women's educational opportunities. The federal Department of Education proposed new rules under Title IX that would apply the protection to men claiming they have become women through "transitioning." This has sparked outrage around the country. JDFI has been working tirelessly to pressure the Biden administration to protect women and girls.
At a conference on September 21 in Washington, D.C., organized by Stop Abusive and Violent Environments (SAVE), speakers warned of the danger American women and girls are facing. Annabelle Rutledge, a vice president at Concerned Women for America, said the proposed rules that allow biological men into women's spaces will result in the "ultimate erasure of women" and the elimination of women's "safe spaces," including bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, and women's shelters.
It is outrageous, but it's also clear that the Biden administration is committed to forcing schools and other institutions to bend to the demands of the transgender movement. They are pushing for the participation of men in women's sports and facilities. They have even threatened to cut off federal aid to poor students if a school prohibits men from entering women's spaces.
Conference organizers also expressed deep concern, shared by us at JDFI, on the right of parents to know and be informed if their children are attempting to transition to a different gender in school. Eagle Forum President Kristen Ullman said, "Parents' rights are natural rights that cannot be given or taken away by the government, and these Title IX regulations do just that."
