May 27, 2020 — "On May 19, the headline read: 'Planned Parenthood affiliates improperly applied for and received $80 million in coronavirus stimulus funds.' This is outrageous, and it shows Planned Parenthood's true colors.
"But it gets worse. Last Friday, dozens of Senate Democrats sent a letter to the Treasury Department and Small Business Administration, asking that the clinics be allowed to keep the $80 million they were 'rightfully given.'
"This is a bald-faced lie. In March, Congress passed the CARES Act, which, among other things, offered forgivable loans to small businesses. Congress excluded nonprofits with more than 500 employees from obtaining these loans, which includes abortion giant Planned Parenthood and its 16,000 employees.
"A senior administration official explained to Fox News, 'It's clear that the abortion industry shouldn't be able to qualify for those funds, which are desperately needed by small businesses.' A White House official added, 'President Trump is committed to ensuring Paycheck Protection Program money is used for saving jobs at small businesses, not getting the government into the business of funding abortion.'
"Despite this explicit restriction, and in spite of the fact that the abortion giant already receives approximately $500 million annually in federal funding, Planned Parenthood went after the money anyway. They knew their brazen attempt to fraudulently steal $80 million deserves both civil and criminal penalties. Yet now Democrats are demanding that Planned Parenthood be allowed to keep taxpayer funds to further their reprehensible abortion business.
"Do Senate Democrats understand the source of their authority? We the people are responsible for this nation, and our representatives serve at our good pleasure and subject to the Constitution. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and his friends have no right to facilitate Planned Parenthood's fraudulent theft of taxpayer funds. There are not sufficient adjectives to effectively communicate the contemptible nature of this action.
"Please share this information with your circle and remind them that America deserves better than Planned Parenthood, and it deserves better than Senators who ignore constitutional limits on their authority. Also, contact your representatives and demand that they put a stop to Planned Parenthood's fraud."
