A judicial case pending in Texas could change everything. The case is Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA. The plaintiffs argue that the FDA's decision in 2000 was based on questionable scientific evidence that failed to evaluate drug safety and health risks to the mother. Of course, every successful abortion will result in the death of a baby.
The pro-life plaintiffs have been supported by legal briefs filed by 22 states, 67 members of Congress and pro-life organizations. U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk is a President Trump appointee with a conservative background. Pro-abortion proponents fear the judge will overturn the FDA's approval of the drug, mifepristone, and stop the use of that drug nationwide.
An opinion could come at any time. The Biden administration is already promising that they will find ways to circumvent the decision if the drug is banned. We pray that Judge Kacsmaryk will make a wise decision in spite of the tremendous pressure he is under from the pro-abortion movement.
