Virtually every week there is a new attack on Christians who love Jesus and love America. Left-wing commentators and politicians have come up with an odd name for these folks. We are now labeled "Christian nationalists." Sounds scary! But, in fact, from the American founding throughout most of our history, most Americans were Bible-believing Christians who loved America. God help us if this is now considered dangerous.
Big Hollywood liberal Rob Reiner is unveiling a new movie documentary called, "God and Country," that attempts to convince the public that religious conservatives are a "threat to democracy." Reiner has been attempting to marginalize Christians and push us out of the public square for years. Our response should be to redouble our efforts to be good Christian citizens.
Reiner's new film is part of a well-funded national smear campaign against patriotic Christians. Recently, leftist operative James Carville tried to stoke panic by claiming Christian nationalism "is a bigger threat than al-Qaeda to this country." Translation: To Carville, Christians who love life are worse than jihadists who worship death. Carville elaborated by claiming new House Speaker Mike Johnson, who is a godly man, as well as at least "two Supreme Court justices maybe more" are a "fundamental threat to the United States." The reason for Carville's smear should be obvious.
For the first time in decades, the Supreme Court has a clear majority of justices who will uphold our constitutional liberties, including the freedoms of religion, speech and assembly. All of these liberties are under attack by the secular neo-Marxist left in America.
Ignore the smear campaign against Americans who love God and love our country. The only hope for America is the involvement of godly men and women in our civic and political arenas. JDFI will stand with you against the haters.
