Check Your Library for These LGBT Books

Written by Dr. James Dobson | August 22, 2021

A popular credit card company asks, "What's in your wallet?"

Perhaps a more important question for parents is this: "What's in your library?"

As The Daily Signal reports, so-called "woke" children's books are teaching your kids about "gay marriage, preferred pronouns, and gender identity."

"Children are being increasingly targeted with sexual content in schools under the guise of 'comprehensive sexuality education' or 'inclusivity,' says Jared Eckert, a research assistant in the DeVos Center for Religion & Civil Society at The Heritage Foundation.

Consider the following examples:

I Am Jazz, a book based on the true story of Jazz Jennings, a male who "transitioned" to female at a very young age.

They She He Me: Free to Be!, a "Gender Wheel" book that gives young children a "guide to pronouns." The book counsels kids, "only you can know what pronoun expresses the spirit of who you are on the inside."

Prince & Knight, which offers "a homosexual twist on the classic tale of a prince in search of his true love." The book ends with this: "And on the two men's wedding day, the air filled with cheer and laughter, for the prince and his shining knight would live happily ever after."

Do you want your children reading these harmful books? Click here to learn more about these and other books promoting LGBTQ ideology, and then take action:

First, contact your local library and find out if they are carrying these titles. If so, ask them to consider removing these books from circulation because they offer inappropriate subject matter for children. (Many libraries have a reconsideration form that you can complete.) Explain that these books aren't appropriate subject matter. If your library refuses to remove the titles, ask them to also offer books for families that hold to a biblical view of human sexuality, such as The Story of Me, or God Made Boys and Girls.

Second, regardless of what your library decides to do, commit to teach your children age-appropriate truth about how God created us male and female. Help them learn about His design for human sexuality and marriage.
