Most supporters of JDFI are pro-life. Many may even consider themselves "pro-life activists." If that describes you, look out—the Biden administration has put a target on your back!
US Army soldiers in training at Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg) were shown a presentation describing various terrorist groups, such as the Islamic State (ISIS), and their tactics. But immediately following the slide on ISIS, our soldiers were told that pro-life organizations National Right to Life and Operation Rescue were also "terrorist groups."
The slideshow even included a picture of a "Choose Life" license plate, popular in many states. It also described the tactics used by these alleged "pro-life terrorists," including demonstrating, life chains, picketing, and sidewalk counseling.
Someone in the Pentagon is seriously confused. The last time I checked, all of those actions were constitutionally protected. Moreover, terrorists deliberately take innocent lives. Pro-life activists are trying to save innocent lives.
After this training presentation was publicly exposed, Fort Liberty issued a statement saying it was not properly "vetted" and would not be used again. But that excuse isn't working for Republican Indiana Representative Jim Banks.
Banks told the Daily Caller, "This is a national outrage. Instead of defending us from foreign terrorists, Joe Biden's Pentagon is attacking pro-life Americans as a domestic terror threat . . . Even if this slide deck was unapproved, it still exposes the Biden Pentagon for creating a politicized environment where far-left whack jobs feel they can get away with teaching our troops that conservative Americans are their adversary and legitimate military targets. We are in dangerous territory."
Representative Banks is absolutely right. The implications here are appalling. Soldiers who are supposed to keep Americans safe are being trained to target pro-life activists as terrorists.
I wish this were an isolated incident. But it is just the latest example of the ongoing effort to demonize and ban conservative opinions and ideas from public discourse. Concerned parents at school board meetings were investigated as "domestic terrorists." Conservative Catholic churches were spied on. We were told it was an isolated incident, just one agent in one office. It was not. Pro-lifers have been accused of being "racist" as well.
President Biden gave a speech condemning half the country that believes in faith, family, and freedom as "semi-fascist." Now the left is on a "jihad" against "Christian nationalism," claiming that people who love Jesus and who also love America are a "danger to democracy."
By that definition, all of the Founding Fathers were "Christian nationalists." But far from threatening democracy, they gave us the greatest democratic republic in the history of the world. Can we keep it? I fear we risk losing it unless men and women of faith make their voices heard loud and clear this November.
