A Nation on Edge: The Rising Threats and Rhetoric Against Trump

Written by Gary Bauer | September 19, 2024

The latest failed assassination attempt on former President Trump by a fanatic who hated him was horrifying but, sadly, not surprising.

Trump is targeted every day with hateful rhetoric by his political opposition and big media. We are told he will be a dictator and is comparable to Hitler. After the first attempt to assassinate him, there were multiple pleas to lower the rhetoric. But the lies and smears aimed at the former president continued.

Just two weeks after the first assassination attempt, Tim Walz, the Democratic nominee for vice president, called Trump a “fascist,” a threat to democracy, and someone who will “put people’s lives in danger.” More recently, Vice President Harris, referring to the January 6, 2021 events at the US capitol, said Trump is responsible for “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.” Worse than 9/11 or Pearl Harbor?

American citizens whose communities are being overwhelmed by millions of migrants and illegal immigrants know how Trump feels.

The migrant and illegal-immigrant crime wave outpaces law enforcement resources. Government subsidies to immigrants surpass what US citizens receive. Yet when Americans plead for help, they are labeled bigots and haters by the political elites. It is not wrong to demand that our government uphold laws relating to our country’s border security and seek the welfare of its legal, tax-paying citizens.

There are less than fifty days before election day. Pray for our constitutional republic and vote to preserve our nation for your children and grandchildren.
