By Julie Clinton
“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
• Read Ruth 1 today and pay special attention to verses 16-17:
But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."
• “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
• “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24).
