About 15 years ago I worked as a cashier at a Discount Chain Store while in college. One particular voting day, a simple primary, a very distinguished gentleman asked me "young lady, did you vote today?". Fortunately, convenience had been on my side as I lived on the same block as the polling place therefore enabling me to reply "yes, actually I did". This man shook my hand and told me this "thank you, years ago, I fought for your right to vote and I appreciate your excercising it". This short interaction has stayed with me all my life and I try to dutifully vote for every election. Thank you veterans for protecting this freedom!!!!
